Event Description
This four week course is designed for those who wish to learn to crochet, or who need a refresher. Women and men of all ages are welcome! During this course, you will be introduced to basic crochet tools, stitches, and techniques, and you will have the opportunity to work on a couple of projects based on your comfort level. You will be shown a variety of pattern resources, and will be shown how to read patterns (written patterns, and if time allows, graph patterns too!).
The course will be taught using Right-handed instruction and UK terminology.
Materials for the first session:
- Crochet Hook: 5.0 mm (H/8)
- Yarn - DK weight in color of your choice. Please select a solid color in a light shade. Avoid dark blue, black, burgundy; avoid variegated or multi-colored yarn.
Note: Please get in touch if there is interest from left-handed individuals, Marlys can arrange a class if/as needed.

Meet the Host, Marlys
Marlys is an avid crafter and has been enjoying needle arts since the age of seven. With a family full of crafters she has learned crocheting, knitting, quilting, embroidery, and even some wood working techniques! Her background includes 30+ years of teaching crocheting to right- and left-handed students at all ability levels, while serving professionally as an administrative officer at a prominent university in Boston, MA.

What if I can’t make the event?
If a recording’s available for the event, you can still register for it and we will send you an email with a link to a recording shortly after it ends.
Will my camera be on and will I be visible to the other people?
Your camera and microphone does not need to be on for you to enjoy the event. The choice about whether to do this is completely yours.
How do I watch the live event?
Rest Less events are hosted on Zoom, a computer application that allows you to attend online events just by clicking a link. For detailed instructions, please go to our "FAQ" page, which you can find a link to in the nav bar at the top of the page.
How do I sign-up for and access the recording? (Recorded events only)
Book the event as normal (as if you are attending live). After the event ends you will automatically receive a post-event email with a link to the recording, as long as the event was recorded. You do not need to do anything else and there is no separate booking process for recordings only. Please note it can take up to 24 hours for Zoom to process recordings.
