A policeman's lot

Neil Sadler spent 30 years as a police officer, working in exotic places like Abu Dhabi and Trinidad…not to mention Crawley and Haywards Heath! He started in the heady 1970s in the renowned holiday resort of Bognor Regis. You will be amazed to hear who he met on his first night shift at 3am. Also: where not to try and escape the traffic cops in one particular country and finally a novel use for a policeman’s helmet.

Fifty Years in TV Soaps

Appearing in Coronation Street in every Decade that it has existed, Jim Whelan has worked with luminaries as Rod Steiger, Anthony Perkins, David Tennant, David Morrissey, Ray Winstone and more recently Samantha Bond, Francesca Annis and Ed Stoppard during his fascinating career.

Poisons for Medicine

Join Graham Harrison for a darkly humorous look at medicine in the 19th Century. The reign of Victoria saw the development of chemical medicine from medieval-style alchemy to modern pharmacy. Chemists lent their ingenuity to attempt to provide any cure their customers wanted. Some made fortunes, some made disastrous mistakes

What Our Customers Say

"This was a wonderful experience.

There is a saying that if one doesn't learn something new everyday then the day is wasted.

The last hour has been so packed with information that if I learn nothing new for several days there is plenty in storage for me to ponder on.

Thank you so much for today's talk and to everyone involved."

"Congratulations, that was a spectacular success from our point of view, you should be very pleased with yourself.

We are having a committee meeting tomorrow at which we will recommend we book talks every two weeks.

Could I have a link to forward to other U3A colleagues, there are over 1400 around the country. I'm sure many of them will be interested.”

I have been to Brugge lots and lots of times and it was fantastic to see it again; I never

You did a wonderful thing and please thank everybody concerned.

I would like to see the rest of the talks this week.

Thank you again."
